We are extremely pleased and honored to announce that IBM Instana has been named a LEADER in the 2022 Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability.
In our opinion becoming a Leader in the 2022, IBM Instana fulfills its vision of becoming a leading Enterprise Observability Platform, powered by Automated APM.
“Gartner defines the application performance monitoring (APM) and observability market as software that enables the observation and analysis of application health, performance, and user experience. The targeted roles are IT operations, site reliability engineers, cloud and platform ops, application developers, and product owners. These solutions may be offered for self-hosted deployments; as vendor-managed, hosted environments; or via software as a service (SaaS).”
This has increased the demand for not only precision monitoring, but to also add observability capabilities that include full automation, precise 1 second metrics, full end-to-end transaction traces and rich contextual information. These capabilities are coupled with full automation that leads to unprecedented and agile intelligent action.
To lead the cloud-native and hybrid cloud APM evolution, we designed the Instana platform to:
- Provide a precise APM Observability intelligence fusion. It accomplishes this by automatically gathering 1 second metrics and providing full end-to-end traces with context and without sampling for every transaction. Instana then combines this information provide 3 second trace notifications enabling faster MTTR or automated remediation with AIOps.
- Provide unmatched cloud-native, multi-cloud and hybrid observability by discovering and mapping all services, infrastructure, and their inter-dependencies automatically. Instana ingests all observability metrics, traces each request, profiles every process, and updates application dependency maps in real-time to deliver the context and actionable feedback needed by DevOps to optimize application performance, enable innovation and mitigate risk.
- Ensure that the best remediation method for any application issue encountered. That can range from fast AIOps-driven automated to Where MMTR is required, Instana provides the richest information for services, infrastructure, and user experience to enable an immediate single source of truth for all application elements.
- Provide automatic mobile metrics, code-level profiling, infrastructure mapping, and dependency correlation in real-time for all services, endpoints, and components. This creates intelligent actionable insight with the full context needed by DevOps to optimize application delivery pipelines and for SREs to optimize application SLOs.
Instana anticipated the impact of cloud infrastructure and containerized services by implementing a evolutionary new platform that delivers the performance required to match the increased performance of cloud-native technologies. Its comprehensive, unsampled observability information ensures that nothing is missed or delayed in being provided to DevOps teams for instantaneous issue remediation.
We’re grateful for this recognition. We believe getting recognized as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for APM and Observability has been the goal of Instana APM and Observability since inception. This is a historic and unique moment for Instana and IBM, our customers, partners, and the wider communities we serve.
